In the first part, the author discusses the fall into the Pit; that is, the stages a person goes through in the development of a substance use disorder and the fact that a substance use disorder is progressive; that is, using a drug often leads to dependence and addiction.
Then, in part two, the author's main focus is on the reversal; that is, the fact that it is possible to get out of the Pit of Addiction. An intervention is necessary, especially a divine intervention, to start the path of recovery and freedom. The author shares his own story in recovery and the story of others who have been able to live a successful life in recovery, and shares the secrets to prevent relapse.
Finally, the last part of the book focuses on the experience of people who decided to live in Freedom, out of the Pit of Addictions, to then live an extraordinary new chapter in their lives, a life full of meaning and purpose. This part of the book, shares some very important tips for a person to live a successful and meaningful life in freedom, away from mind altering substances and other addictive behaviors.
