In this work, Vergnaud details the modelling of liquid transfer through various solids, especially polymers. Special consideration is given to the modelling of the process and to recent applications of computer simulation with a focus on real-world chemical, industrial, medical and pharmaceutical applications.;The aim is to make progressive and constant mathematics and numerical analysis accessible, and recent liquid transfer experiments and test verifications are included to illustrate the uses of the process. The models presented are designed to help polymer users predict the transfer process' behaviour and develop new applications.
