Mandie, who is twenty, is at a turning point in her life. She is an Afrikaner from South Africa who has travelled to the United States to see her father, a migrant worker on a ranch in rural Texas. Rod is a young American man of 24 years old who works in West Texas on a sizable project as a cellular tower climber. Mandie and he cross paths in an unlikely situation.
