Publisher's Synopsis
Harry Wolf quits his acting job after a fight with the studio executives over his affair with one of their actresses, an older but still beautiful redhead. Later she is murdered by her granddaughter (Red Riding Hood.) Harry is blamed for the murder, but is cleared by CSI, who identify the killer as Red's boyfriend, a local lumberjack. This begins a series of stories, narrated by Harry's cousin, Canis Latrans, in which Harry meets a time travelling owl (Dr. Hoot), a high flying legal eagle (L. Eagle), a vulture capitalist (Victoria Avvoltoio), tooth fairies, fairy godmothers, genies, Greek gods, Norse gods, vampires, religious fanatics, werewolves, dragons, prostitutes, pedophiles and many other exotic characters. The wolf works as a private investigator, an undercover agent for homeland security and an insurance investigator before finally being murdered by a family of pigs who are trying to cover up an insurance scam. The stories give alternative (and quite different) versions of the stories of Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Little Bo Peep, Pinocchio and many others. It introduces several students and faculty at Warthog Academy, including Stephen Owling, Donkie Oatie and Dr. C. Little. Among the things you will learn in the stories are: who should be afraid of Virginia Wolf, why the beauty was attracted to the beast and why Goldilocks was in the bears' house.
