These Discourses do not challenge criticism from the purely literary standpoint. They labour under all the disadvantages incident to posthumous publication, hav ing been neither selected nor revised by their Author. With the exception of the two Sermons entitled respectively Worship and Christianity and Litera ture, they were all composed rapidly in the course of Dr. Leckie's ordinary week-to-week ministrations, and are fair examples of his regular style of teaching.
