Publisher's Synopsis
Like so many uniquely American family stories, this one begins... elsewhere. Actually, it begins in the middle of the 19th Century, in Bergen Norway with Rasmus Andrew Jorgenson, and Pernelle Neilsdater. Born in 1839 and 1840 respectively in the Bergen, Norway area, these two started a family odyssey that was so common in the fabric of American lives just a few generations ago. Leaving Norway in late 1871, the couple traveled across the ocean to Green Bay, Wisconsin where they settled, built a home, and started a family. This is the story of that family - the Robinson Family History. Raymond Clifford Robinson, Sr. was born on September 29, 1909 in Fort Howard, Wisconsin. The house at 425 Fifth Street was home to Ray and his brothers. This book starts with a brief introduction to the history of the family and covers his time in Green Bay. The idyllic years in Green Bay formed Ray Sr. into the man he would become. This is his story - and the story of the family built on the roots of the generations before. Truly a man of nature, this biography show Ray and his family for what they truly are - sturdy mid-westerners with a love of family, the outdoors, and 'the water' ... a common theme in almost every entry. Enjoy your journey through this brief history of the Robinson family.
