Publisher's Synopsis
Library Instruction and Reference Services presents two opposing schools of thought in regard to library instruction: those who hold a firm belief in the value of library instruction and feel it warrants a separate place in the organizational structure of the library organization, and those who hold fast to the belief that library instruction is not needed as a separate library function or department and nor does it help the library fulfill its mission. Suggestions for the role and place of library instruction are discussed to broaden library professionals'perceptions of this library service.
