Lexicon Devil is the ninth book by the Poet Birdland Slim. The book finds the Poet in a reflective mood trying to enjoy life as man in his Fifties. Life of course brings its changes and Covid 19 dropped itself on the world in turn disrupting the Poets life. The books begins with a lovely remembrance of a artist friend playing piano in a soup kitchen. it moves through simple events in the poets life from the death of Rock Stars like Peter Shelley of the Buzzcocks to memories of unrequited love and new romances though a long distant one at that. The books chronicles the Poets trying effort to see his young adult hero in concert, Morrissey in Saskatoon. The poet gets tickets for the concert and of course, Morrissey reschedules and months later The poet sees the Rock star poet in person in Saskatoon. Then Covid 19 hits the world and poet is not spared its misfortunes. The Poet loses his job during the pandemic due to his workplace runs out of money due to lack of members. The Poet is thrust onto his own unemployed and 54. The poet struggles with this very difficult time and finds a job and is saved for the present but, the future is quite unsure. the book offers many bits of wisdom and the thoughts of a older man in his Fifties.
