Publisher's Synopsis

Childhood abuse destroys boundaries physically and mentally. The act of rape is a violent one- time event. Child abuse is a constantly happening event. In a rape, the victim will never want to relive the situation again but in an abuse situation, the child will want to relive that situation again and again. The child will be far away from relationships. Her most important trust has been broken and she will find it hard to trust anyone. What the abuser is leaving behind is a person who has zero self-esteem and an emotional wreck and highly vulnerable.

Amana, a news reporter is given the task of interviewing Levona who has recently won the highest award in poetry and who in the awards function had mentioned that the inspiration for her poetry came from the pain of child abuse. Levona does not want to discuss the abuse and refuses to give interview to Amana. Amana convinces Levona that her story might be a role model for others and it might answer some questions if not all. Levona reluctantly tells the story of her abuse.
