The reign of proscription will soon sub side, and, it is to be hoped, will be succeeded by tolerance and forbearance. It is, however, both necessary and' proper that you and your immediate satellites should be stripped of the emolu ments of office. The public welfare and the voice of the people imperiously demand it. The evil forebodings of a guilty mind must long since have suggested it to you. Noriwill you, in the calm and dispassionate moments of re?ection, condemn this sen tence as harsh. You will acknowledge its justice, and in the lan guage ofthe sacred volume, exclaim, The arrows ofthe Almighty'
