This text looks at the findings of the 8th International meeting of the Leksell Gamma Knife society, held in Marseille. The book features a number of papers on matters of general interest including the optimization of GammaPlan, approaches to protect the visual pathways and the role of apoptosis. The findings also show the pituitary adenoma as a source of interest, and the tumour as a challenge for Gamma Knife users. There is a growth in interest for the use of the Gamma Knife for malignant disease and a concentration on Meningiomas and acoustic schwannomas. Papers showing development in the fields of epilepsy, Parkinson's disease and trigeminal neuralgia are also outlined.
