Publisher's Synopsis
As early as the 19th century, there were successful codification plans such as the General German Commercial Code ( Allgemeines Deutsches Handelsgesetzbuch - ADHGB) of 1861, which regulates business transactions in Central Europe and in doing so assumes the function of a common law of obligations. As "uniform law" , Articles 354-359 ADHGB provide a comprehensive set of rules for breach of contract.
