The Formulary is confined to diocesan affairs; to bishops and priests and to their official rela tions. English being the language of our diocesan courts as well as of the Apostolic Delegation in Washington, this Formulary is printed in English, except where prudence requires the use of Latin. The object of this work is not to give extensive treatises on the various subjects mentioned. But rather to offer an epitome of the law on necessary points and to provide safe forms.
Whatever appears in the following pages is cheer fully submitted to the judgment and correction of proper ecclesiastical authority.
