The aim of this book is to explore the legal issues arising from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) which is the largest item in the EEC budget.;The CAP lies behind many of the institutional developments in the EEC and is closely intertwined with the system of community finance.;The author maintains that agricultural legislation forms the background to much of the European Court's case-law on the relationship between Community Law and national law. It is in this context that the European Court has developed many of the general principles of Community law.;J.A.Usher was a Legal Secretary at the European Court in Luxembourg from 1974-1978.
