The material on ledru-rollin is rather extensive. Among the printed documents, newspapers, and books, which give voluminous information about his part in the Second Republic, particularly valuable are two histories of the revolution of February, one written by Delvau, Ledru's private secretary, the other by Regnault, his chief of cabinet. Besides, there are in the Bibliotheque de la Ville de Paris a few thousand letters by or concerning ledru-rollin; most of these, however, deal with the period posterior to June 13, 1849, and therefore lie outside the range of this study.
