Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Lectures on Orthopedic Surgery
The pathologic process in chronic joint-disease is usually a primary tubercular in?ammation, or a second ary tubercular in?ammation transmitted from some primary focus located elsewhere, such as a cheesy bronchial lymph-node, or it may be a tubercular in?ammation engrafted upon a local traumatic or syphilitic in?ammation. It is possible that tuberculosis may become engrafted upon a rheumatic in?ammation, but from clinical experience this appears to be doubtful.
