I there fore proceed to this analysis and explanation, and Shall consider it under the three following heads. In the first, I shall consider the meaning, and history, and synonyms of the word Logic. In the second, I shall consider the Genus of Logic, that is, explain why it is defined as a Science. In the third, I shall consider the Object-matter of Logic, that is, explain to you what is meant by saying, that it is conversant about the Laws of Thought as Thought.
