Let me state that some years ago my cousin. William Sanford Leach. Son of Elbridge Gerry Leach, of Boston, made the English ancestry of our family a matter Of research, and it is said he traced the family back to John Leach, surgeon to King Edward the Third. My cousin died in the Union army, and the data he made has been lost.
