Was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and Literary Studies at The Open University of Tanzania since 2012- 2015, teaching Sociolinguistic studies. Holds a Diploma in Teaching Methodology; English and Kiswahili languages. M.A Linguistics from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, U. S. A., B.A Education from University of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, PhD in Linguistics from University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign, U. S. A with specialization in Sociolinguistic studies. Topic of PHD dissertation was: The Englishization of Tanzanian Kiswahili: A study in Language Contact and Convergence.Dr. Anna Kishe is also an expert in Kiswahili language, Teaching Kiswahili for foreigners. She has also presented and published many articles on Kiswahili language development, and on Language Contact, Language Planning as well as preparing University learning Materials.
