Publisher's Synopsis
This is a very ambitious, scholarly updated project that aims to make known the immense artistic heritage preserved in this world famous Basilica. Therefore a scientific commission has been set up which includes professors from the University of Padua, the Director of the Centro Studi Antoniani and the former Director of the Archaeological Museum of Padua. The two volumes are introduced by a Preface written by the cultural and lay leaders of the Basilica: Rector, Pontifical Delegate, Provincial Minister, and President of the Ark of St. Anthony and, for the scientific part, Salvatore Settis; and above all by the Holy Father Pope Francis.
