Publisher's Synopsis
Between 1982 and 2013, the Kunst Heute (Art Today) Foundation assembled a distinguished collection of the works of young contemporary Swiss artists. Pipilotti Rist, Fischli/Weiss and Thomas Hirschhorn are just some of the names to be found in the collection. After over 30 years of activity, the Foundation ceased its work at the end of 2013 and the collection is now housed in the Museum of Fine Arts Bern. This catalogue is published as the third volume in a series entitled 'Die Sammlung Gegenwartskunst (The Contemporary Art Collection) to accompany the scheduled exhibition, which investigates forms of artistic positioning and self-referentiality in a quintessentually globalised world.
