When ghostwriter Lee Bartholomew finds herself between jobs, she decides to visit her cousin Gussie, who has recently fled to the depths of rural Devon to recuperate from her disastrous marriage. Gussie is currently working in a restaurant, and one of her customers has died suddenly while on a blind date with a man called 'Mr Wright' - they met on the internet but he never showed up. Then the body of another woman is found at the bottom of a nearby quarry ... and this woman also had a scheduled date with the elusive - and potentially deadly - 'Mr Wright'.
