Publisher's Synopsis
This study evaluates the use of community mediation in the resolution of disputes between neighbours. The issue is one of increasing importance as policy makers stress the value of keeping disputes out of the courts, and users of formal grievance procedures continue to express concern about the inability of such systems to provide satisfactory outcomes. The book suggests a number of ways in which debate about the value of mediation can be progressed. This research is funded by the Nuffield Trust who aim to stimulate public discussion.
