This is an interactive software package currently produced for the BBC Model B micro with disk storage. It comprises a basic package (disk and booklet) designed to reinforce formal teaching of the elementary principles of infrared spectrometry and the interpretation of infrared spectra. The interactive nature of the software allows the user to display selected spectra in high resolution and to test his/her knowledge of band positions and ability at spectral interpretation.;The software is menu-driven, robust and user friendly, and the coverage includes the basic principles of infrared spectrometry, methods of spectral interpretation and self-assessment exercises. In addition, the spectra displayed is of high quality and high resolution, and supplementary disks will be available to purchasers of the original package. It is planned that these will include disks for advanced spectral interpretation and industrial training. Details on request. The package comes in a robust ring binder contained in a case. This will hold extra copies of the disks and all supplementary disks required.
