Publisher's Synopsis
An Arabic treatise on eloquence and rhetoric, attributed to 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Ali al-Yazdi (d. 1454), a prominent scholar of the Timurid era. The work consists of two parts: the first deals with the principles of rhetoric and the rules of style, while the second provides examples of speeches and letters by famous orators and poets. The edition includes an introduction, annotations, and a glossary, as well as a critical edition of a related treatise by Qabus ibn Washmagir (d. 967), a Persian philosopher and poet.
