Publisher's Synopsis
Who is Jesus-Really?
In 2007, 138 Muslim leaders issued A Common Word Between Us and You calling Muslims and Christians to unite around Jesus' command to love God and neighbour. But what if our common ground runs even deeper?
The Qur'an honours Jesus as Kalimatullah, the Word of God, miraculously born of a virgin. The only one to live a sinless life, healed the broken, gave life even to the dead, and revealed the Gospel of love. He declared, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life." Gabriel, confirmed to Maryam and Muhammad, that Jesus as a sign to all mankind, and a mercy from God (Surah Maryam 19:21).
Yet, for many Muslims, Jesus remains a mystery. Why? Because Islamic interpretation has been shaped by hadith-books written centuries later that are filled with anti-Christian polemics that stagnate dialogue. Islam needs a Sola Scriptura reformation, not just a Quranist's rejection of hateful hadith, but an embracement of the Word of God alone!
It is fully Islamic to accept Moses as the giver of the Law, Jesus as the Messiah, and Muhammad as the final messenger-who reminded people of the Law and warned against elevating any of the messengers as Lords, beside Allah. The Books go together!
- The Torah condemns -exposing sin.
- The Gospel saves -offering grace and mercy.
- The Qur'an calls- for all to worship God alone.
Seeking Muslims-who want to understand Jesus while honouring Muhammad.
Christians in interfaith dialogue-to read the Qur'an in the light of the Gospel.
All who believe there is only one God, who revealed Himself through the prophets who calls all to love God and to love their neighbour. A future, together.
