Publisher's Synopsis
This book is bi-lingual by design and hopes to serve well to both Hindi as well as English speaking readers in that the poems / couplets have been translated in short transcripts to ensure those having handicap in Hindi (Devanagari) can get the nuance of the satire in a meaningful manner without losing the essence of the same.
In todays fast paced world of instant noodles and pizzas, where Stand-up comedy has taken the center-stage leaving the Poetic fraternity to perils of the much talked about Age of Disruption, this is an effort to re-enlighten the spirits of those who would love to enjoy reading the linguistic expressions in poetic form in pure satire without use of excessive cuss words used by the new age Performers in trying to engage the audience. This would also serve as an introduction to the linguistic charm of poetic satire to the new age millennials who are so engrossed with the Smartphones and Video-Games rather than enriching themselves with literature and linguistic excellence. Poetry is an art. A poet is therefore an Artist.
Within each one of us resides a Poet struggling to come out however it fails often times either due to inability to express oneself or a hesitancy that stems from the general lethargy. For everyone out there I have compiled a list of Poems written by my uncle Mr. Amarnath Murthy who is an Engineer by profession and a Mathematician-Musician by talent. He dared to let his emotions flow in verses that expressed the melancholy of the world as it unfolded through his life journey.
Most people will find a connect to the beautifully written satire on life that encompasses the relationship with other half, the philosophy of life, the psychology of human and the travesty that one goes through living this mirage of a life as one travels from one failure to another. Everything that we crave for in life eventually betrays us once we achieve or lose them leaving us only with experiences - good or bad. Almost all the poems written in Devanagari as they rhyme and sound better that way, depicts the emptiness in a success and a learning in failure that embodies our life's journey. The satire gives a purpose to life different from what has been taugh
