With an inept and corrupt administration in Washington, the Border States floundered in their attempt to defend their citizenry. Decades of American politicians using the immigration problems at the US-Mexico border as a political bargaining chip had left those federal agencies whose responsibility it was to secure the border, useless in dealing with the invasion. As the invasion progressed further and further into the United States, the Walther brothers, each living in a different border state, were severely impacted. With no hope in sight, the brothers struggled for their very existence while the emotions of love and loss consumed them.
