The undivided kingdom of Israel had three kings: Saul, David, Solomon. Saul was a bad King. David was a good King. Solomon started out as a good King and was led into idolatry by his 700 wives and 300 concubines. He became a bad King. God divided the kingdom because of Solomon's idolatry. The northern kingdom was called Israel. The southern kingdom was called Judah.
