Note that the top section is for read aloud, and the kids can follow in the simpler section written on the page bottom, which they can eventually read along with you or on their own. In this bilingual coloring book version of Juan Fearful, there are lined pages with each page in the story so that children can either dictate a comment or tell their own version of the story while you print what they say. These language experience writings can also be read and reread with the children. You can also encourage them to write about the story using their own creative spelling. Don't correct. Just ask them to read it back to you.
