Excerpt from Journal of the Senate of the State of Indiana: Being the Third Session of the General Assembly, Begun and Held at Corydon, in the Said State of Indiana, on Monday the Seventh Day of December, 1818
Ordered. That a committee be appointed on the part of the Senate to act with a similar committee to be ap', pointed on the part of the, House of Representatives, to Wait on his excellency the Governor. And inform him that a quorum of both houses are assembled and'ready to receive'any communications he may be pleased to make to them - and Messrs. Beggs and Pennington Were appointed that committee.
