Excerpt from Journal of the Senate of Commonwealth of Virginia: Begun and Held at the Capitol, in the City of Richmond, on Monday the Second Day of December, in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty
And, upon the question put thereupon, by Mr. Stanard, it was agreed to by the Senate.
Mr. Stanard then nominated William H. Dennis, Esq., as a fit and proper person to discharge the duties of the Chair.
