The first business in order being the election of a President of the Senate for the time being, On motion of Mr. Davis, Mr. Hunter was unanimously elected to that position.
Mr. Hill moved that a committee of three be appointed by the Chair to wait upon Mr. Hunter, inform him of his election, and conduct him to his seat.
