AS usual, only four of the five Departments of the Association were effectually represented at the General Meetings, the Finance Department having joined with the Education and Social Economy Departments in presenting Papers. In addition to the list of 'papers announced by the Council, and given above, a Paper advocating his particular system of deaf-mute education was volunteered by Dr. E. M. Gallaudet of the National deaf-mute College at Washington, and very briefly debated in the Department of Education, September 10.
