Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Journal of Forestry, 1921, Vol. 19: Official Organ of the Society of American Foresters
The above-comparison with Connecticut plots suggests the possible applicability of the table to even-aged, well-stocked, stands of southern upland hardwoods over a wide range of territory, possibly from north ern Alabama to New England and westward to the Mississippi River. This, however, is a matter for determination and one which can be accomplished for each particular locality by taking a comparatively few plots representing the range of sites present.
