En parcourant, il y a quelques années, les nombreux volumes du Recueil de Gourart, con serve au dépôt des manuscrits de la bibliothè que de l'arsenal, je rencontrai au tome XI in - 4, un journal historique occupant 286 pages (p. 197 a s'étendant du 4 janvier 161 4 au 54 décembre 1-6l9, et auquel la table ancienne du mème tome donnait ce titre Journal histo rique et anecdote de la Cour et de Paris, par un homme d'etat. C'est ce Journal, écrit par un des personnages les plus célèbres du XVII sie cle, que je publie aujourd'hui, après m'ètre assuré, autant qu'on peut avoir une certitude a cet égard, qu'il est inédit.
