'Daylight Found Me With No Answer' is an exhibition of new works by Mexican artist Jose Davila at Max Wigram Gallery. Trained in architecture and a self-taught historian, Davila is known for austere, sculptural installations that occupy a fruitful middle ground between architecture and art. Considering the 20th-century avant-gardes, he operates at the limits of homage, imitation, and critique. Like a kind of mirage, he uses different reproduction strategies to dismantle the relationship between form and content, as well as manifest the virtues and defects of his references.
