The Harvest Fest was the last big outdoor event in Snowflake Falls before the snow began to fall. There were many activities for everyone to participate in but the favorite was the Chili Cook-off. This year, Joshua Zimmerman had been given the task to organize a team for the Snowflake Falls Shoe Factory.Joshua loved his job as the Chief Financial Officer at the Shoe Factory. He was a planner and had researched the company long before even applying. It was how he liked to run his life. He hated surprises and always wanted to be well prepared for anything that came his way. He got along well with the other employees except for the very beautiful and extremely stubborn, Joselyn Engle, the Director of Human Resources. They started off on the wrong foot and never seemed to get back in step. That was why he purposely didn't choose her to be on the company's Chili Cook-off team. So when she showed up stating she was on the team, he was certain the day was going to be a disaster. However, this unplanned and very unexpected turn of events turned out to be a wonderful surprise that had the potential of changing both his and Joselyn's life forever. Joshua and Joselyn would come to find out that behind the smiles and well wishes of others, a seed was being planted with the sole purpose of destroying a good reputation and preventing a budding relationship from growing. Once the seed of gossip had been planted, it began to grow quickly, springing up like a vine, wrapping its winding stem round and round making it difficult to see what was really true and what was a destructive lie.Even though everyone in town knew that gossip was often a problem in the small community, no one would freely admit that they were involved in talking about others in a negative light. However, it was no surprise that on the morning after the Harvest Fest the buzz heard around town began with, "Did you hear what happened at the Harvest Fest?"
