Young Jace millipede has good reason to be worried about his cherished ocean community. During his prehistoric Devonian age lifetime, the ocean provides ideal conditions for life to prosper; unfortunately, it also provides ever increasing numbers of predators which he and his millimates refer to as millislayers. He begins a bold and brave crusade to migrate his community to a strange new land place far away from the millislayers after he experiences a mystical vision. Jace is convinced his vision is a scene of a friendly forest located on the land place. He and his millimates have high hopes that by leaving the ocean, they will regain the happy peaceful lives they once knew! But it tears at Jace's heart to leave behind one of his two best friends, Lusa, who has to stay behind. Only time will tell if he will ever see her again.
- It is thought throughout the paleontology scientific community that the millipedes were likely the first complex creature to migrate from the ocean onto dry soil, the inspiration for this remarkable story!
