This text has a straight-forward, common sense style without being condescending. It is organized into eleven chapters based on questions first-year students might ask. Unlike many competitors, this text focuses on college success skills and includes very little material on personal growth and wellness issues. Topics include: goal setting, time management, critical thinking, study and test taking skills, library research, writing and speaking skills, student-faculty relations, financial planning, multi-cultural sensitivity, career exploration and planning, and other issues.
