Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Is It for Ever?, Vol. 1 of 3: A Novel
There was a carriage drive up to The House; but it was only about a hun dred yards in extent: you entered at one swing gate, and went out at another not twenty yards off, in a direct line, and con nected by an iron railing fenced by a thick row of evergreens, with just a tree here and there to intercept the view of the road. A small beautifully-kept plat' of grass filled up the space before The House, and was divided from it by the gravelled drive.
