Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Irish Facts for British Platforms, Vol. 2: December, 1908
Public attention is so much absorbed in these days by a number of important questions of home and foreign policy that the Irish question, which is always with us, is not sufficiently kept in view. The solemn warnings, repeated again and again by learned judges, the inexorable statistics of crime and outrage, the cynical admissions made by members of His Majesty's Government, do not receive the consideration which they deserve. The whole course of events has, however, been calculated to encourage the enemies Of the Union and the champions of disorder, and to discourage the loyal and long suffering minority, who have fought our battle so gallantly during recent years. The Separatist party, no doubt, hope by these tactics to undermine the position which they have failed to carry by more direct assaults.
