This set of photocopiable sheets is intended as a resource for teaching the National Curriculum Attainment Target 17 - the nature of science. The sheets are intended for use by students at all levels from 4 to 10 for Key Stages 3 and 4 and the students can learn about the the nature of science as part of their normal science teaching by carrying out investigations on the wide range of topics provided. 12 investigations are included each dealing with a specific statement of attainment.;The teachers' section discusses the philosophy of approaching the teaching of science as a dynamic process through historical data, contemporary thought and structured learning. Full teaching notes on each investigation provide maximum support for the teacher and general teaching notes suggest how to integrate work on attainment target 17 into an existing science scheme.
