Publisher's Synopsis
This third edition of a text on Dutch law incorporates major changes such as the 1983 revisions in the Constitution, the loss of some of the liberal characteristics of the criminal-justice system since the 1970s, and the recent Civil Code and General Administrative Law Act.;The impact of European law has increased considerably, and the growing importance of environmental law is recognized by the devotion of a full chapter to this subject. Further amendments to the book arise from a continuous stream of case law and legislation. In order to increase the book's usefulness to foreign students, the original (mainly Dutch-language) bibliography has been replaced by a bibliography of foreign publications on Dutch law.
