Publisher's Synopsis
The current report summarizes the outcome of the activities of the Fifth AIAA International Space Cooperation Workshop. It was cosponsored by the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UN/OOSA), the Confederation of European Aerospace Societies (CEAS), and the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI). The workshop was one of the officially designated preparatory activities of the Unispace III Conference.Three working groups concerned with space commercialization, satellite navigation, and the use of space assets for disaster management continued deliberations initiated at previous workshops. Two new working group topics were introduced at the Fifth Workshop concerning Earth observation data distribution and issues arising from the increasing number of satellites in orbit.
