Publisher's Synopsis
This text contains papers presented at the 4th International Congress of the International Society for Neuroimmunomodulation, held in Switzerland in September/October 1999. The main lecture highlights aspects of NIM, and other abstracts cover topics which include: pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines and CNS; Melatonin, NIM and hematopoiesis; peripheral NIM; behaviour, emotional disorders and immunity; and autoimmune diseases. Most contributors deal with basic research, and clinical studies remain in a minority.
