Publisher's Synopsis
Interactive Hip, 2009 Release features detailed and labeled views of the hip and acetabulum. This updated software presents seven biomechanical animations that showcase the range of motion, gait, and stresses of the hip (including acetabular stress, cement stress, cortex stress, and prosthesis stress). Impingement animations and videos of surface anatomy are also featured. Each nerve in the hip and acetabulum may be viewed as part of an entire structure but may also be isolated to allow a closer and more in-depth look at individual nerves. Peel away layers of anatomy from bone to skin to reveal these aspects:
- Hip joint
- Pelvis
- Thigh
- Lumbar plexus
- Sacral and coccygeal plexuses
- Surface features
- Bone regions
An MRI section showcases MR slices from within the joint in the axial, sagittal, and coronal planes accompanied by the corresponding portion the 3-D model in up to 27 slices. The 3-D model is fully interactive, allowing 360-degree rotation, the ability to add and remove layers of anatomy, and the option to label any item. Clicking on specific structures reveals related text and links to additional dissections, clinical slides, diagrams, and annotated illustrations. The software also provides an export and print option for presentations and handouts.
