Publisher's Synopsis
This programme is directed to nephrologists, intensivists, general internists, and other health care professionals interested in the management of acute and chronic renal disease. It aims to increase understanding of the evolution of genetic engineering from lab to practice in both acute and chronic renal diseases. It reviews the newer concepts involved in the generation of frequent nephrological problems seen in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and describes evolving concepts of dialysis adequacy in peritoneal dialysis and analysis of patients. It also explains how to interpret the outcomes of various manoeuvres frequently undertaken in acute renal failure support and appraise the use of other extracorporeal modalities in the support of, or treatment of, failing organ systems.
