Wang Yangming was a Chinese calligrapher, military general, philosopher, politician, and writer during the Ming dynasty. After Zhu Xi, he is commonly regarded as the most important Neo-Confucian thinker, with interpretations of Confucianism that denied the rationalist dualism of the orthodox philosophy of Zhu Xi. Instructions for Practical Living is divided into three volumes. The first volume expounds the view of unity of knowledge and practice, and the idea that objects are sincere kungfu, which is reviewed by Wang Yangming himself. The second volume contains eight articles, which are written by Wang Yangming himself, and are his later works. The second volume mainly focuses on conscience, and puts forward the view of unity of noumenon Kung Fu and saints all over the street.
