There are many aspects to being a people Manager, such as employment legislation, health and safety regulations and HR policies and procedures to familiarise with however, we must not neglect the fundamentals that make it all these work - working effectively with people. If we don't get the 'people skills' right, then we cannot be effective modern managers, regardless of how much we know our policies and our business. More and more of a managers skill nowadays is about understanding the psychology of people and how we all 'tick', so this book was created from various sources of material I've used over the years training managers in best practice and also training new managers in the role.
